Analogic Introduces Value Line of High-Performance, Customizable Ultrasound Systems

Sonix Q+ Ultrasound Systems Easy to Operate

PEABODY, Mass., May 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), enabling the world's medical imaging and aviation security technology, today introduced its Sonix Q+ line of ultrasound systems with Quantum™ Plus Imaging Technology and a touch screen interface that can be customized to meet the specific workflow needs of physicians. The new ultrasound systems will be available in various configurations for point-of-care and general imaging applications, and will begin shipping in June 2014.

"Our new Sonix Q+ systems reflect the combined strengths of our global Analogic Ultrasound product development team, bringing together talent from our design centers in Denmark, Vancouver, State College, Pa., and Boston," said Farley Peechatka, senior vice president and general manager of Ultrasound Business at Analogic. "We've designed this value-oriented line of products in response to market demand for high-performance, reliable, affordable systems that offer innovative features and excellent image quality. Since we've built these systems to last, we have strengthened our warranty offerings."

Analogic's Sonix Q+ product line consists of the SonixTouch®, SonixOne and SonixMDP/SP/OP ultrasound systems. The SonixTouch Q+ is a cart-based system with a touch screen interface and a height-adjustable, high-resolution 19" monitor. Designed for point-of-care applications including anesthesia, emergency medicine, musculoskeletal and pain management, the system also features options for reproductive medicine.

The SonixOne Q+ system is a compact system featuring a full touch screen interface that can be placed on a cart, mounted on a wall or placed on any flat surface. The system is easy to learn and operate, and is ideal for musculoskeletal imaging with an attractive entry price with one transducer.

The company's Sonix Q+ line also includes a cart-based platform, the SonixMDP Q+, with a more traditional console and a touch screen control panel for general imaging applications. This premium option supports cardiac imaging with ECG, comprehensive cardiac calculations and reports, and specialized exams including OB/GYN, musculoskeletal, vascular and general imaging procedures. Entry-level options for this platform include the SonixSP Q+ and SonixOP Q+ systems, which offer a subset of the premium features.

"We believe our Sonix Q+ line will set a new level of performance for value-oriented ultrasound systems around the world," Peechatka continued. "The convergence of our engineering resources and technologies from our global design and manufacturing centers has produced systems that change the value equation for clinicians. No other company offers the flexibility, innovation and image quality of these systems for a comparable price."
