Pages now include a shipping countdown timer to let the customer know when an item will ship, and a new media library format that offers product photos and videos in one simple-to-navigate space. A scroll bar of related items also allows customers to see similar products for an easy shopping experience.
Tom Altman, US Cargo Control's Director of E-Commerce, says the new design moves information up on the page, making it easier for customers viewing and shopping the website on tablets.
"More and more e-commerce customers are shopping on mobile tablets, so we designed the new product page layout to ensure we're providing the information in a format that makes it easy for those shoppers," said Altman.
The new page layout now also features product videos along with the photos. The previous layout didn't provide an optimal space for viewing, says Altman.
"Videos are becoming extremely important, as customers appreciate being able to see the product in action before purchasing," said Altman. "We're in the process of ramping up our video productions now that we have a great format to showcase the media right on the product page."
Altman says the company's entire video library can also be seen on the US Cargo Control YouTube channel.
In addition to the product page updates, the company is also currently redesigning its popular 3" ratchet straps and 4" ratchet straps categories, with plans to roll out the new products and pages over the next four weeks.
