UniTek Global Services Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

Recognizes Employee Anniversaries and Promotes Community Volunteerism

BLUE BELL, Pa., June 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- UniTek Global Services, Inc. ("UniTek" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:UNTK), a premier provider of permanently outsourced infrastructure services to the telecommunications, broadband cable, wireless, transportation, public safety and satellite television industries, is proud to announce the 10-year anniversary of its founding.

"Our Company began with the concept that a universal technician, or 'UniTek,' would provide specific services for cable, satellite and wireless customers," said Rocky Romanella, Chief Executive Officer. "Over the past decade, we have grown into our UniTek name, to support the increasing demand for bandwidth, systems and technology upgrades. Today, we are a universal solutions provider connecting individuals, businesses and communities to the digital landscape through our highly-skilled team of professionals. On 'UniTek Day,' which we celebrate annually on the first Monday of June, we proudly reflect upon the meaningful connection between our past and future by recognizing our tenured employees, like Dan Yannantuono, President of DirectSat USA, our Satellite Fulfillment Division and one of our original managers. Dan has been a pillar of leadership, customer service and organic growth during his tenure. We thank Dan for his commitment and dedication to providing world-class service and look ahead to new opportunities to grow our business."

In reflection of his current tenure with the Company, Dan Yannantuono stated, "Looking back, this has been an unbelievable journey — one that grew out of the UniTek culture of operational excellence; acting like an owner and thinking like a customer."

UniTek Global Services, formerly UniTek USA, was founded in June 2004 to acquire the assets of DirectSat, its Satellite Fulfillment Division. The Company has grown throughout the years as a result of several strategic acquisitions, along with organic growth. In 2010, UniTek became a publically traded company following a reverse merger with Berliner Communications, Inc. UniTek has since evolved into a fully-integrated solutions provider, offering a suite of expertly designed systems integration, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and WiFi networks, cable, satellite, landline, tower, land mobile radio, wireless and carrier services and maintenance agreements through our four specialized companies: DirectSat USA, FTS USA, Pinnacle Wireless and Wirecomm Systems, Inc. and employs over 3,000 employees across the United States and Canada.

"One consistent feature of the telecommunications industry is its robust and dynamic landscape. Today, most homes are 'connected' primarily for communications, data and entertainment. Looking forward, our technicians have the capacity to fully integrate the latest technologies to automate a home, including appliances, utility systems and security networks — making it not only safe and entertaining, but a smart asset, programmable via a variety of mobile devices. This constant change makes it imperative that we anticipate and meet consumers' needs to advance the integration of data, entertainment, utilities and appliances," explains Mr. Romanella.

Today, UniTek takes large-scale communications infrastructure projects from start to finish. From network engineering, construction, site acquisition and project management, comprehensive installation and fulfillment, to service and maintenance, UniTek Companies expertly deliver innovation, service and safety of the highest standards on projects of any scope.

Industry-Leading Employee Compensation

UniTek proudly offers its employees a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits plan, superior commitment to safety, career growth opportunities and a referral bonus. It strives to be an employer of choice for members of the Armed Forces and military veterans, and recognizes that the skills and expertise they learned through their service bring great value to the Company.

Community Volunteerism

As part of the Company's ongoing efforts in helping to support local community charities and agencies, UniTek has orchestrated several community service volunteer events to show our appreciation for the communities in which we live and work. In particular, employees of our Corporate and Pinnacle Wireless headquarters recently supported Carry The Fallen, a not-for-profit organization devoted to combating veteran suicide.

"As we celebrate our 10th year, we are thankful for those we serve — our customers, their customers, our investors, employees and the community. Part of sharing our success includes giving back to the communities through volunteerism and charitable giving so UniTek will be known both as an employer of choice and a good corporate citizen. Our passion for this industry, talented people, commitment to safety, a high-integrity culture and strong core values makes us uniquely UniTek," added Mr. Romanella. "Over the last ten years we have, like any Company, faced our share of challenges, and as we have indicated, we continue to do so today. However, that does not detract from our pride in what we have achieved over the last decade."
