Rejlers engaged in the design of Humanisten in Gothenburg

Akademiska Hus is reconstructing and extending Humanisten at the University of
Gothenburg in order to collocate its activities. Rejlers has been awarded the
planning contract for electricity, telecommunications and lifts.
Humanisten is the centre of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Gothenburg.
The original building, which was completed in 1984, is located at
Renströmsparken in Gothenburg. Over a ten-year period, the University of
Gothenburg intends to bring its six departments together on the same site in
order to strengthen collaboration within the faculty.
The reconstructed and extended building will cover an area of approximately
25,000 square metres. The new premises will house teaching rooms, a café, a
lecture hall, meeting rooms and a restaurant among other things. The building
contractor is Akademiska Hus, the architect is KUB arkitekter and the general
contractor in this collaborative project is NCC. Systems management planning
will take place during 2014. Detailed planning work is underway for the
Humanisten project and is being prepared for presentation. Two programme
councils have been held, one in 2009 and one in 2012.
