The new iron gate valve has an industry-leading working pressure of 350psi and will be commercially available in August 2014.

The Mueller style A-2361 resilient wedge gate valve will be offered in sizes ranging from 4 to 12 inches and features innovative dual purpose lifting lugs, a user friendly T-head bolt retention design and a unique 'pressure assist' wedge geometry. The valve is also triple listed; it meets American Water Works Association's C515 standards and is both UL listed and FM approved.

The lifting lugs provide instant alignment for the valve box and accommodate straps or hooks. In addition, there is a nesting area for T-head bolts on MJ connections to prevent rotation during pipe installation. The all-new 'pressure assisted' wedge design requires the same torque to seal at 350psi as current distribution valves do at 250psi. Importantly, all internal components of the new 2361 are interchangeable with their current installed base of Mueller resilient wedge gate valves, simplifying the utilities parts inventory requirements.
The valve is made in the USA at Mueller Co.'s Chattanooga, TN facility and certified to ANSI/NSF 61 and ANSI/NSF 372.
