MobiTV to Speak on Monetization, Content Discovery and the Changing TV Everywhere Landscape at TV of Tomorrow

EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MobiTV, a global leader in enabling the delivery of live and on-demand TV everywhere, announced today that Chief Technology Officer Cedric Fernandes will speak at the highly-regarded TV everywhere industry event, TV of Tomorrow. Fernandes will participate on a panel aimed at examining the multilayered TV landscape and how competition, strategic alliances, technologies and platforms are presenting new challenges and opportunities for major industry players. TV of Tomorrow is a two-day conference in San Francisco where cable, telco and satellite operators, broadcasters, studios, content developers and producers, and CE equipment manufacturers in the interactive and multiplatform television industries meet to discuss the evolving TV everywhere ecosystem.

Panel Title: Navigating TV's New Competitive Landscape

Date and Time: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 12:20 – 1:20 p.m. PDT

Location: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, Calif.

Due to the fundamental shift in TV viewing, this session will explore how the lines continue to blur between pay-TV and OTT content providers based on the launch of new technologies and delivery of unique content across new platforms. Major industry players now find themselves faced with increasing competition, and as a result, are developing new alliances and monetization strategies to find audiences. Fernandes, who oversees the strategic direction of MobiTV's end-to-end connected media platform – that delivers a personalized, user-centric TV everywhere experience across all screens, networks, platforms and operating systems – will share how this industry reconfiguration will affect business plans, content discovery and consumer viewing. Additionally, Fernandes will explain why personalization is critical to a deployment strategy and how industry players should focus more on an individual consumer's usage rather than specific devices. Specifically, he'll demonstrate how this deployment approach will allow for more personalized content such as favorites, recommendations, sharing and customized profiles that are based on each user's unique tastes, interests and demands.
