Azteca America Names Jose Luis Padilla Vice President and General Manager of KAZA Los Angeles, and Regional Vice President of West Coast Managed Stations


LOS ANGELES, June 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Azteca America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca, S.A.B. de C.V., one of the two largest producers of Spanish language content in the world, today announced that José Luis Padilla has been named Vice President and General Manager of the flagship station KAZA in Los Angeles, and Regional Vice President of Azteca's West Coast Managed Stations.

In his new role, Padilla will be responsible for Sales, Marketing, Local Programming and Operations for KAZA and will also be supervising and developing regional strategies for KEMO San Francisco, KPDF Phoenix, and KHDF Las Vegas.

Padilla is a 25 year veteran of Spanish Language Media.

Prior to joining Azteca, Padilla served as General Sales Manager at CNN Latino where he established the West Coast Sales Division and developed its client base. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager at KWHY Television. Padilla was responsible for all aspects of stations operations and all departments. He spent 18 years at Univision Network where he held various positions and ascended to Vice President & General Manager and General Sales Manager of KTVW in Phoenix Arizona. During his tenure, the station substantially grew its revenues and presence in the community.

Padilla has a strong track record of involvement and outreach in the Hispanic Community, including serving on the Board of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University and as a guest professor for the graduate program. Padilla resides with his family in Porter Ranch, California and is a graduate of California State Northridge.
