2014 "Crawin' for the Cure" a Record-Setting Event

Coastal Flow Measurement Again Benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

HOUSTON, June 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 4th annual "Crawin' for the Cure," hosted by Coastal Flow Measurement, Inc. at the Pasadena, Texas Convention Center and Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 10, served nearly 1,000 people all of the crawfish they could eat, featured the standout Junior Gordon band, and raised well over $60,000 for cystic fibrosis research. With special guests including Pasadena Mayor Johnny Isbell, Cystic Fibrosis Director Sissy Boyd, and record-setting cystic fibrosis fundraiser Tommy Danger in attendance, the 2014 event was a huge success.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of approximately 30,000 people in the U.S. alone, making it one of the most common life-shortening inherited conditions despite its classification as an Orphan Disease (one which affects a relatively small population). Today, thanks to continued foundation-supported research and specialized care, the median age of survival is almost forty years; more than double that of just a generation ago!

Coastal Flow congratulates the 2014 Crawin' for the Cure cooking team winners for crawfish and gumbo:

Coastal Flow also sincerely thanks all of the volunteers, sponsors, and friends who made this year's event so successful. Volunteers are key to fundraising success and the company encourages everyone to get involved! Whether joining a committee, helping to recruit sponsors, or just working at a future event, volunteers help to achieve the mission of better managing and someday fully curing cystic fibrosis. Adding "tomorrows" every day to the lives of people with CF is the real-world goal.
