Hexagon acquires North West Geomatics Ltd.

Hexagon AB, a leading global provider of design, measurement and visualisation
technologies, has acquired the remaining 90 per cent of the shares in North West
Geomatics Ltd., making the company a fully owned subsidiary of Hexagon. Hexagon
acquired 10 per cent of North West Geomatics’ shares in 2012.

North West Geomatics, also known as North West Group (North West), provides high
-quality aerial mapping and related spatial data services to engineering and
mapping firms, environmental consulting organisations and government agencies.
In addition to housing the single largest library of high-resolution imagery and
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data in Canada, North West has been a
pioneer in developing various techniques to maximise efficiency and productivity
in photo acquisition and subsequent photogrammetric tasks. Valtus - North West’s
content database - enables the seamless integration of any customer’s privately
owned content through a hosting service. By dedicating a significant portion of
resources to continuing research and development, North West remains at the
forefront in the aerial photography industry.

“North West brings valuable expertise in selling data content as a service
(CaaS) through its Valtus database, which enables crowdsourcing of data content.
Together with advances in sensor capabilities and the acquisitions of AHAB,
Aibotix, Geosoft and Tridicon, North West will be an instrumental part in
Hexagon’s ambitions within this field”, said Hexagon President and CEO Ola
Rollén.

North West Geomatics will be fully consolidated as of today. The company's
turnover for 2013 amounted to approximately 10 million EUR.
