SAN DIEGO, Calif., June 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Cubic Transportation Systems announced today that it is on the winning team for the ITS-NY Project of the Year awarded June 12 to MTA Bus Time®, the customer information system for bus location and arrival times that was developed and delivered to the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Bus Time was completed in March and covers more than 15,000 bus stops in New York City.

Under a contract awarded in 2013, Cubic was selected to build and integrate the Bus Hardware System that includes the on-board computer and bus location device for Bus Time. The open source customer information system answers the question of "Where's my bus?" by making information about each bus available via through several options including a desktop web map, a mobile web site and a text message-based service.
