CPH: Stable growth strengthens hub

Traffic numbers from Copenhagen Airport continued to show stable growth in May with 8.3% more passengers than in the same month of last year. Especially transfer traffic and long-haul services showed significant growth.

A total of 2,328,469 passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in May, making it the busiest month of May ever.

The number of transfer passengers travelling via Copenhagen was up by 20.7%, while intercontinental traffic was up by 14.0%.

"The strong growth in both long-haul passengers and transfer passengers strengthens Denmark's and Copenhagen's position as the key international transport hub of northern Europe. It also shows that we are achieving the goals we have set for our World Class Hub strategy," said Copenhagen Airport's CEO Thomas Woldbye.

International traffic grew by 8.7%, and domestic traffic was up by 3.6%.

The total number of passengers at Copenhagen Airport for the year-to-date period is 9,832,891, which is almost 180,000 more than in the same period of last year and represents a growth rate of 7.1%.
