Intermolecular Announces New Chairman

Dr. Bruce McWilliams Assumes Chairman Position; Current Chairman to Remain on the Board

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Intermolecular, Inc. (Nasdaq:IMI)—accelerating research and development for semiconductor and clean energy industries—today announced that Dr. Bruce McWilliams has been appointed Chairman of the Board, taking over the chairman position from Tom Baruch. Mr. Baruch has served as chairman for almost eight years, and he will remain on the Intermolecular board as an active director.

Dr. McWilliams has served on the Intermolecular board since 2005. He is currently the CEO of SuVolta, and was the CEO of Tessera from 1999 to 2008. He has also worked in the fields of silicon chip-based display, multi-chip module manufacturing and solar heating technology. Dr. McWilliams hold B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Carnegie Mellon University.
