LOS ANGELES, June 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Expanding its growing technology banking business, City National Bank has hired seasoned technology and venture capital banker Billy O'Grady in Los Angeles.
O'Grady will be responsible for providing the growing number of technology companies and entrepreneurs in Southern California with a wide array of credit, banking and investment solutions.

"We have a long history of banking the entertainment industry in Southern California and we are increasing our efforts to support and finance the tech community here as well as the growing number of companies that are melding entertainment and technology."
O'Grady joins as a senior vice president and will head up the Southern California Technology and Venture Capital Banking group for City National. He was recently a vice president and relationship manager for Silicon Valley Bank's technology group in Los Angeles and San Diego, responsible for building a portfolio of early and growth stage companies. He will work out of City National's Santa Monica office.
O'Grady joins a growing West Coast technology team as well as three recent technology bankers in New York and Boston that were hired last year to better serve the tech communities in those regions. In the past 12 months, City National has helped about 75 companies grow with various products and services, including a venture debt deal for The Honest Co. in Santa Monica.
O'Grady is a graduate of St. John Fisher College of Rochester, NY, where he received his bachelor's degree in sport management, with a minor in business administration.
