BMC Software Bringing FedRAMP Certification to Remedy OnDemand on AWS

Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector Allows Government Agencies to Lower Costs and Increase Agility Through Solutions on the AWS Cloud

HOUSTON, June 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BMC Software is bringing its flagship BMC Remedy IT Service Management solution (ITSM) to Amazon Web Services (AWS), a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Compliant Cloud Service Provider. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is sponsoring the process for BMC Remedy OnDemand to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO) in compliance with FedRAMP.

More than 70 percent of government agencies use BMC Remedy, the market leading ITSM solution, today primarily through on-premise systems. Soon, these agencies will be able to reduce cost and complexity by safely and securely running BMC Remedy OnDemand on AWS.

This offering supports the U.S. government's Cloud First Policy by offering smarter IT solutions that enable agencies to securely access digital information anytime, anywhere, on any device in cost-effective ways. As agencies shift to the cloud to support mission critical services, ITSM is an area where they can quickly realize value through agility and reduced costs.

"It has been a pleasure collaborating with AWS and the USDA. Their guidance and insight has helped us to accelerate our FedRAMP initiatives," said Robin Purohit, president, ITSM at BMC. "With Remedy OnDemand for public sector, federal agencies have access to a modern, trusted platform for delivering IT service management in a secure cloud environment."

BMC Remedy OnDemand on AWS brings agility to public sector users through its ease of deployment and ability to quickly add new services and capabilities such as BMC MyIT, the next-generation self-service app, and BMC AppZone, a universal app store.

"As a FedRAMP Compliant Cloud Service Provider, AWS provides a highly-secure platform for our customers and helps pave the way for government agencies to adopt cloud services," said Max Peterson, Director of Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "With the acceleration of BMC's FedRAMP approval for Remedy OnDemand, public sector customers can access BMC's transformative modern IT service management solution that enhances the user experience and helps reduce overall costs."
