Small Business Summit to be Held During Nova Scotia Open

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Web.com (Nasdaq:WWWW), a leading provider of Internet services and online marketing solutions for small businesses, will host a free Small Business Summit designed to help small business owners in Halifax learn how to successfully increase their business' visibility and better market themselves online. The Small Business Summit will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (ADT) at the Westin Nova Scotian. Through Web.com's agreement with the PGA TOUR and as the umbrella sponsor of the Web.com Tour, Web.com developed the Small Business Summit as a benefit to small business owners in communities in the United States and Canada.

The Honorable Stephen McNeil, premier of Nova Scotia, and Mike Savage, mayor of Halifax, will join Web.com Chairman and CEO David L. Brown to address the small business attendees.

"Business is the force that drives the Nova Scotia economy forward, and conducting business online is key," says Premier McNeil. "The 2014 Nova Scotia Open - the only Canadian stop on the Web.com Tour for the 2014 season is an exciting time for Nova Scotia and will create significant global exposure for our province. This Small Business Summit will help Nova Scotia companies learn to utilize the internet in order to benefit from this exposure."

"This small business opportunity illustrates the dual community benefit of hosting a premier golf event sponsored by Web.com, a company that is already a valuable member of the Halifax business community," said Mayor Savage. "We're grateful for the opportunity to host this Web.com Tour event and the Small Businesses Summit."

Topics and content at the Small Business Summit focus on ways small business owners can achieve a successful Internet presence, including the elements of a great website, how to determine if their website is working for them, increasing traffic to their website and business, mobile marketing and decoding how to efficiently market their business on Google, Facebook and Twitter.

"Web.com is very pleased to bring our Small Business Summit to Nova Scotia. The company has a long history of giving back to the communities we serve. Through our free Small Business Summit, we provide small business owners the opportunity to hear from experts on how they can better market their businesses online," said Brown. "Every day, Web.com helps millions of business owners address the challenges of building and maintaining an effective web presence that helps their businesses grow."
