Aruba S.p.A. Deploys Radware DefensePro to Improve Service Availability and Secure Network Infrastructure

Leading Italian Web Hosting Company Selects Radware's World-Class Security Solution for Guaranteed Service Availability With Unmatched DDoS Protection and Attack Mitigation

MAHWAH, N.J., July 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Radware®(Nasdaq:RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced that leading Italian Web hosting company Aruba S.p.A. has selected Radware's DefensePro® – a real-time, behavioral based attack mitigation solution – to bolster service availability and protect its complex network infrastructure.

While smart network design and good capacity planning have historically offered organizations with basic DDoS defenses, the evolution of attacks in the last few years has crippled old security approaches, rendering them ineffective against these new types of cyber threats. Aruba experienced DDoS attacks that directly impacted the availability of its service and network infrastructure. Due to this growing threat, Aruba required a solution that would mitigate the impact of these attacks. It evaluated several anti-DDoS vendors in the market looking for a solution that would guarantee SLA for its two million customers and subscribers even while under an attack.

After a thorough evaluation process, Aruba selected Radware's DefensePro for DDoS mitigation and SSL-based protection to fully protect its applications and networks against known and emerging threats.

"We chose DefensePro because it was the only solution available in the market that was able to match all our requirements, guarantee all deliverables in the project, and was cost effective," said Marco Grassi, head of operations, Aruba S.p.A. "During the whole sales process, Radware's Emergency Response Team supported us from a technical point of view, providing quick answers and helping our SOC team in security incident management."

By deploying DefensePro in a scrubbing center, Aruba gained the widest attack coverage and highest mitigation accuracy within the shortest time, while eradicating any impact on service availability. The company also gained scalability and flexibility without being limited by the actual network physical topology, which was also a requirement.

"With DefensePro we are able to immediately detect and mitigate attacks to deliver uninterrupted service availability to customers and subscribers," added Grassi. "The developments have significantly improved brand perception and increased market share against competition."

"DDoS attacks have evolved and are becoming more complex and sophisticated, requiring enterprises to implement a more holistic security approach," said Alberto Prandini, regional director, Radware. "DefensePro provides a complete level of network protection to our customers. As part of Radware's Attack Mitigation Network (AMN) architecture, the complete solution offers network administrators scalability without losing mitigation accuracy to better fight complex attacks, while still allowing business continuity during an attack."
