ArmourLite Watch Company Combines Polycarbonate Case Construction With a Screw Down Crown in All-New Navigator Diver Series

ArmourLite Navigator Diver Series offers world's first tritium illuminated watches to feature this combination

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL, July 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Where will your watch take you? Climb higher, go further, dive deeper, and see brighter! No more limitations with your watch!

Having several world's firsts under its belt, ArmourLite Watch Company is preparing for yet another. At the JCK Las Vegas 2014 show in May, ArmourLite showed off its all-new Navigator Diver Series. The Navigator Diver Series watches are the world's first tritium illuminated watches to offer a screw down crown with a polycarbonate case. Traditional polycarbonate case construction makes it difficult to incorporate a screw down crown. Rather, push down crowns are commonly used.

"Although a screw down crown is not necessary to maintain a water resistant seal, we have overcome numerous engineering challenges and created the ideal watch for dive watch enthusiasts," explains Ashley Diener, CEO of ArmourLite Watch Company.

In addition to the ultra lightweight polycarbonate construction, anti-reflective scratch resistant sapphire crystal is used. Swiss Ronda 507 quartz movements with day and date displays power the watches. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a green tritium marker at the zero-position is useful for keeping track of elapsed time. Plus, the watches offer 200m of dive-friendly water resistance. The dials feature green and orange tritium markers as well as compass bearings. Each watch also comes with an NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) band that is heavily resistant to oils, greases, and extreme temperatures

This safe and reliable permanent illumination technology allows the user to easily tell the time at a glance, even in the darkest lighting conditions. Tritium illumination is commonly used for the instrument dials in aircraft, compasses and night sights for weapons since it does not require a battery or external power supply and it remains constantly illuminated for 20+ years.
