"Today's vote in the Senate to confirm San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro as the next Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is a clear indication that he was the best candidate for this post. Throughout his confirmation process, Mr. Castro has put forth fresh, common sense ideas for improving the Department's operations and initiatives that also reflect the changing face of our nation's general market and business demographics.
During today's vote, the USHCC was particularly enthused about the bipartisan support that Mr. Castro received, and we thank our Republican friends in the Senate who voted favorably.
