American Airlines Partners With SoldierSocks to Help Veterans Walk Again

STAMFORD, Conn., July 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Not-for-profit SoldierSocks announced today that American Airlines has become the official airline of SoldierSocks. American Airlines  will support the transportation needs of a representative from SoldierSocks and a veteran with spinal cord injuries to fly to Veteran's Hospitals across the U.S. to demonstrate how an Ekso™ (OTCQB:EKSO) robotic exoskeleton can help veterans living with spinal cord injury, stroke and other neurological conditions walk again. Ekso™ is a ready-to-wear, battery-powered bionic suit - or exoskeleton - which enables individuals with lower extremity paralysis to stand up and walk.

"We are honored to have American Airlines as a corporate sponsor. Their contribution will play a vital role in helping SoldierSocks assist our nation's heroes," said SoldierSocks founder, Chris Meek. "Together, we can help our service members literally take their next step forward."

About SoldierSocks

SoldierSocks was founded in 2009 to provide basic necessities such as baby wipes, socks and sunscreen to American soldiers fighting for our country in the trenches of Afghanistan and Iraq. As more of our soldiers return home to the U.S., SoldierSocks continues to assist our nation's heroes in re-acclimating to civilian life by offering scholarships for colleges and trade schools and offering paralyzed soldiers an opportunity to gain mobility outside of a wheelchair.
