JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stein Mart, Inc. (Nasdaq:SMRT) today reported total sales for the five-week period ended July 5, 2014 of $113.2 million, a 3.8 percent increase over total sales of $109.0 million for the five-week period ended July 6, 2013. Comparable store sales for the five-week period ended July 5, 2014 increased 2.6 percent from comparable store sales for the five-week period ended July 6, 2013.
Total sales of $551.7 million for the 22-week period ended July 5, 2014 increased 2.6 percent from total sales of $537.7 million for the 22-week period ended July 6, 2013. Comparable store sales for the 22-week period ended July 5, 2014 increased 2.1 percent from comparable store sales for the 22-week period ended July 6, 2013.
Geographically, Florida, the Carolinas and California had the strongest sales in June, while the Gulf States and Texas were more challenged.
The Company operated 265 stores at the end of June this year compared to 262 stores last year.
