Continued strong market uptake for OLYSIO® during the second quarter 2014


Stockholm, Sweden — Medivir AB (OMX: MVIR) announces that the global second
quarter net sales of Olysio (simeprevir) amounted to 831 MUSD, of which 725 MUSD
were sales in the USA. Olysio continued a very positive sales development and
gained market shares during the quarter.

Medivir’s royalties based on sales for the second quarter amounted to 500,7 MSEK
(54,4 MEUR).

Olysio is an NS3/4A protease inhibitor jointly developed by Janssen R&D Ireland
and Medivir AB and indicated for the treatment chronic hepatitis C infection in
combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin in HCV genotype 1 and 4

Janssen is responsible for the global clinical development of Olysio and has
