MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network with more than 300 million members, today named Michael Callahan as its new vice president, general counsel and secretary. He will officially join the company on July 28th. He will report to CEO Jeff Weiner and be a member of LinkedIn's executive staff.
Callahan served most recently as the Chief Legal Officer at Auction.com, the nation's leading online real estate marketplace, where he oversaw the company's legal, regulatory, intellectual property, government relations, compliance, ethics, and corporate governance matters. Previously, he was Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Yahoo!. Callahan holds a B.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut.

Callahan will replace Erika Rottenberg, who announced earlier this year that she would be leaving the company. Rottenberg has served as LinkedIn's general counsel since 2008.
