NEW YORK, N.Y., July 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - "A SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER"

September 1st, 2014 begins TicToc Awareness Month. The foundation is closer than ever and working feverishly in finding ways to improve the lives of people with Tourette Syndrome.

TicTocStop (TTS) was started in the late Spring of 2013 by WFAN Radio CBS Sports Network Host, Craig Carton. He started TTS with one mission: To find a way to make the tics associated with Tourette Syndrome disappear. This mission is highly personal for Craig - He and two of his children have this genetic disease. TTS and a team of medical researchers organized by Craig believe they have found a way to do that.

The answer comes in a patented dental device developed by TTS funded scientists that have shown the ability to decrease the frequency and severity of tics in a person with diagnosed Tourette's.TicTocStop recently completed a preliminary study testing the efficacy of such a device, with very positive results.

To follow on that success, TTS is now sponsoring the largest clinical trial ever for Tourette's, to be conducted at three major pediatric research centers. Should the study results be as expected, TTS will then apply for FDA approval of the device, making it available to all kids with Tourette's that are medically suitable. While not a cure, this therapy holds the potential to be revolutionary in controlling the symptoms this disease.
No drug or any other treatment has been shown to be even close in comparison to the effectiveness of this dental device.

Families having children with Tourette's also have special social and educational needs, so Craig has started Camp Carton, a week long coed sleep away camp serving children ages ten (10) through twelve (12) diagnosed with Tourette's. Camp Carton will host 20-30 children for the 2014 summer at Ramapo Camp for Children in Rhinebeck, NY.

The expansion of TicTocStop's medical research and social support programs require that they ramp up and expand their financial capabilities, so in September TTS will launch a very ambitious fundraising campaign supported by business and corporate donations.

"A September to Remember"

"We would kindly ask that you and your friends and colleagues consider picking a single day, a week or the whole month of September and dedicating a small portion of your sales or revenue for that day to TicTocStop." stated Craig Carton, live from Camp Carton.

Carton continued, "Your generosity will go a long way towards helping us achieve our goal of eradicating the tics associated with Tourettes, then finding the cause and a cure for Tourette's."
