10th Orinda Classic Car Show to Delight Car Fans With September Weekend Events

ORINDA, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 28, 2014) - Starting Friday, September 12^th, area car buffs will have three great events to attend in Orinda, CA. The weekend kicks off with a pre-show "Rebels With A Cause" party on Friday at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 13^th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., it's the free 10th Annual Orinda Classic Car Show presented by Orinda Motors. On Sunday, September 14^th it's 'Speed on the Screen' special-feature movie night at the classic art deco Orinda Theatre with two film classics, "Blues Brothers" at 5:30 and "Duel" at 7:45 p.m.

The events almost solely fund the "Seniors Around Town" transportation service, an Orinda Association program, in addition to other charities, raising more than $250,000 since its start in 2005. "Just as important as the financial support is the partnership with the car show organization -- its volunteers and supporters," said Seniors Around Town program manager Kate Wiley. "All of their efforts help in spreading awareness of our program to future riders and future volunteer drivers. This partnership is at the heart of what Orinda does so well, bringing people together for a common local good."

More than 200 American & European cars ranging from the 1920's, to the classics of the 50's and 60's, as well as modern exotics will be shown in Saturday's free show. This year's show will feature special exhibits of Porsches and Mustangs. "We will again display classics 'on the green' thanks to the Orinda Country Club opening its beautiful 16^th golf fairway for a 'Pebble Beach' flavor," says event founder, Chip Herman. "This year's event will also have shaded seating for guests to enjoy great Orinda Country Club lunch and beverage offerings served on the edge of the fairway at our BBQ booth with classic cars around. There will be something for everybody!"
