WEST COVINA, Calif., Aug. 6, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Foothill Transit Board of Directors awarded Veolia Transportation a new contract on July 25, 2014 to operate services originating from the Agency's Arcadia Operations and Maintenance facility. It is a four-year contract with three two-year options. Veolia will provide operations and maintenance for approximately half of Foothill Transit's service. Veolia will operate this contract using 145 vehicles and 382 employees starting October 5th, 2014.

Veolia will bring new technology and innovation to this contract through the addition of a new Bus Operations Center, which will enable more active management of drivers and the Agency's vehicles deployed within the system. There will also be new innovations in the area of customer experience through improved customer feedback management, additional social media engagement and new, improved dispatching tools.
