INDEPENDENCE, Mo., Aug. 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Katherine "Katie" Oatman has joined the Independence general family dental practice of Dr. Susan Appleberry Widick.
Dr. Oatman is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, where she performed rotations at a Federally Qualified Health Center and at a private clinic. Dr. Oatman also performed outreach educational services and provided dental care to children and adults in the Lincoln, NE community and surrounding areas.
Over the past year, Dr. Oatman completed a residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. The 12-month program provides postgraduate training in restorative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral surgery, TMD therapy, and implant dentistry. The prestigious program admits only six to eight residents each academic year.
