OTTAWA, Aug. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SecureTech 2014, Canada's leading public safety, emergency management and security showcase, will for the first time feature a Soldier Systems pillar, including a conference, breakout sessions and a trade show, as part of the three-day SecureTech event. In collaboration with the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Textile Industry Association (CTIA), the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) merged the Soldier Systems event with SecureTech to provide a greater platform to showcase the products, services and technological solutions of the textile, apparel and textile-related industries.

"The growth and success of both the Soldier Systems Showcase and the SecureTech Showcase over the last several years prompted CADSI to explore with DND and CTIA the mutual benefits of combining the events into one large SecureTech conference and trade show, with a Soldier Systems pillar," said Gerry Champagne, CADSI Vice President of Operations. "Merger of these two showcases will offer greater opportunities to leverage common products, services and technologies, and innovative solutions across the full spectrum of the defence and security communities."

The full-day Soldier Systems conference, now in its third year, is scheduled for November 3rd and will focus on the current and long-term needs of the Canadian Army, and on the evolving objectives of the Canadian Forces Soldier Systems project. The Soldier Systems Pavilion will be part of the SecureTech trade show over the following two days. Soldier Systems delegates, exhibitors and sponsors will have the added advantage of being able to participate in the emergency responder and innovation stages, and to participate in the integrated business-to-business and business-to-government meeting program.

SecureTech 2014 takes place November 3rd to 5th at the Ottawa Convention Centre. CADSI is expecting more than 160 exhibitors from the public safety, security and textile industries, and more than 2,500 delegates. The show will feature more than 50,000 square feet of Canadian and international exhibits, an Innovation Stage, an Emergency Responder Stage, a four-track conference program focused on border security, critical infrastructure protection, cyber resilience and counter-terrorism, and numerous networking opportunities, including business-to-business and business-to-government sessions.

SecureTech 2014 will be of particular interest to law enforcement personnel, firefighters, paramedics, border security agents, search and rescue personnel, and the military, as well as to government and industry organizations involved in public safety, emergency management or security.
