PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Board of Directors of Precision Castparts Corp. (NYSE:PCP) has approved a $1 billion expansion to the Company's existing share repurchase program, effective immediately and continuing through September 30, 2016.

"Our primary use of cash will continue to be to support our value-creating acquisition strategy. At the same time, however, the strength of our balance sheet enables us to be opportunistic buyers of our common stock."
As of August 12, 2014, the Company had used $1.24 billion of the $1.5 billion authorized previously.
In addition, the Board of Directors of the Company has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.03 per share on the company's common stock payable on September 29, 2014, to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 5, 2014.
