LogMeIn Earns Top Honors for IoT Customer Innovation & Technology Platform at M2M Evolution Conference

BOSTON, Aug. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LogMeIn (Nasdaq:LOGM) earned top awards for IoT-related customer innovation, as well as its Xively IoT Platform at the M2M Evolution Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. LogMeIn's IoT implementation for New England Biolabs won the Business Impact Award and Xively was named Best Overall Platform at M2M Battle of the Platforms.

The M2M Evolution Business Impact Award recognizes companies that have successfully leveraged the IoT to solve business issues and create new opportunities. The Battle of the Platforms showcases next-generation technologies for enabling connected businesses. Winners were selected by a panel of industry analyst judges.

"These awards are so gratifying because, together, they represent the two key ingredients for IoT success: the expertise to envision and scope the most compelling business case, and a robust IoT technology platform," said Chad Jones, VP, Internet of Things Strategy, LogMeIn. "We're honored that, like our customers, the judges recognize how LogMeIn's business-first approach and proven IoT platform help companies deliver powerful connected solutions in accelerated timeframes."

LogMeIn helps customers optimize their connected vision with the goal of attaining the greatest possible business impact, and then helps build the best connected solution to support it, using the Xively Platform and complementary ecosystem partners. Xively, built on LogMeIn's Gravity infrastructure— which supports millions of secure connections between people, devices and data across the globe — is a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) designed to help companies accelerate IoT initiatives.

LogMeIn worked with New England Biolabs to rapidly create the industry's first connected, self-service enzyme freezers for DNA research. LogMeIn's IoT Professional Services team guided NEB to the best business case, and helped develop the solution using Xively, Salesforce.com and Heroku. This unique combination of services and technologies enabled NEB to go from concept to live production in just 100 days.

NEB can now offer instant enzyme availability with just-in-time restocking. Plus, with its newfound customer usage data, NEB can deliver highly relevant, extremely targeted marketing to aid up-sell and cross-sell, and by integrating Xively-connected freezers with the Salesforce.com Service Cloud, NEB can remotely monitor them for maintenance and proactive repair, speeding fixes and avoiding product loss.
