2014 Inc. 5000 List Ranks AirSage in the Top 13 Percent

Repeat Honor: AirSage is Named as One of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies...Again!

ATLANTA, Aug. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the second year in a row, AirSage® has been named to Inc. magazine's list of America's 5000 fastest growing private companies. Ranked at 679 in the 2014 Inc. 5000, AirSage—the largest provider of consumer travel trends and population-movement intelligence in the U.S.—moved up more than 1,600 spots from last year's ranking of 2,309.

Now in its 33rd year, the list has become a hallmark of entrepreneurial success, recognizing some of the most important drivers in economic growth: organizational leadership and innovative products and services. AirSage is the 22nd highest ranking company in the state of Georgia and 58th out of 338 software companies included on this year's list.

AirSage collects and analyzes real-time mobile signals to process more than 15 billion anonymous locations every day. Signals are time and date-stamped to illustrate when people travel and where they go. By turning mobile devices (cell phones, tablets, etc.) into passive mobile data sensors, AirSage provides unmatched scale and accuracy while fully protecting user privacy.

"Over the past 14 years, we've pioneered the transformation of wireless network signaling data into powerful insights that reveal how and when people move," said Cy Smith, Founder and CEO of AirSage. "Today, AirSage provides the widest coverage of any real-time location-based service provider in the country. It's an honor to be recognized as a forward-thinking organization with entrepreneurial products and services."

In addition to working alongside transportation and urban planners to identify traffic and transit patterns, AirSage technology is being embraced by two new industry categories:

  1. Consumer and Market Research—Massive data samples reveal hidden insights and allow for better decisions and investments in: real estate site selection, out-of-home media, target marketing, equity and network analytics and disaster and emergency management.

  2. Travel and Tourism—By using location and movement data from AirSage, Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs) and Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) can better understand tourist travel patterns: where visitors come from, where they go once they arrive to their destination city and when they travel.

AirSage was ranked in the top 13% in the nation, based in part on its tremendous three-year revenue growth of 669%. Annual revenue for 2013 was $9.8 million and since it was founded in 2000, the company has grown to 38 employees.
