Brown and Lauren D. Laitin have joined the firm, practicing from its Washington, D.C headquarters. Both join Tandem from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
At Tandem, Ms. Brown will focus primarily on corporate and tax law, while Ms. Laitin will counsel clients on both tax controversy and general litigation matters. In addition to serving clients on these issues, both attorneys will also assume the role of outside general counsel for select growth companies, providing full legal support in close collaboration with the client's management team to ensure alignment with the company's business strategy and growth plans.

While at Skadden, Ms. Brown represented clients on a wide range of domestic and international tax matters, with particular emphasis on tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, cross border tax planning and corporate restructurings. Ms. Brown received her B.A from Tufts University, her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law, and her LL.M. from New York University School of Law.

Prior to joining Tandem, Ms. Laitin focused on large corporate clients with tax controversy and tax litigation matters, representing clients in various stages of the administrative process with the Internal Revenue Service, including audit, appeals, and settlement procedures. She also participated in complex tax litigation matters before the United States Tax Court and United States District Courts. Before Skadden, Lauren spent several years working for the federal government as an intelligence analyst. She received a B.A. from Columbia University, a Master in Public Administration from George Washington University, and her J.D. from American University's Washington School of Law.
