Voxofon Ranked Among Fastest Growing Private Companies in Houston

Apps are used to connect with friends, family and business associates around the world

HOUSTON, Aug. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Voxofon (www.voxofon.com), a provider of mobile apps utilizing over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services, has been named a finalist by the Houston Business Journal for its 2014 Houston Fast 100, which lists the fastest growing private companies in the Houston area. The companies were evaluated on their revenue growth from 2011 to 2013. All of the companies on the list are headquartered within the 10-county Houston metropolitan area and have been doing business for a minimum of five years.

With fun, engaging mobile apps that bring global communities together, Voxofon continuously releases new features and enhancements to its apps in order to keep up with the ever changing needs of mobile users. For instance, earlier this year Voxofon rolled out multimedia messaging, making it possible for users to share photos, videos and location over SMS. Voxofon also makes it possible for users to send photos and video messages to feature phone users that can be viewed through their mobile browser. Best of all, regardless if you use an iOS, Android, Windows or BlackBerry device, Voxofon users can talk and message to each other for free, no matter where you are in the world.

"We are proud to be a profitable bootstrapped company, and we owe all our success to the community of nearly two million enthusiastic users around the world who utilize Voxofon's apps to stay connected with friends, family and business associates through voice, video and messaging," said Alexey Goloshubin, CEO of Voxofon. "In this rapidly changing market, we consider Voxofon's apps as just the tip of the iceberg. The true value we offer is helping developers create new ways of delivering seamless voice, video and text/multimedia messaging integrated across Web and mobile applications. This is how Bit6 transforms the app experience and completely changes what the users get from applications, which is why we launched Bit6 earlier this year."

Launched in March, Bit6 is a communications as-a-service platform that allows developers to easily integrate communication features, such as in-app voice/video calling, texting, and multimedia messaging, into their mobile and Web applications, dramatically transforming the app experience for their users. Bit6 currently has beta software development kits (SDKs) available for iOS, Android and JavaScript, connecting users, apps and devices through an ecosystem of technologies including Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and public switched telephone network (PSTN).

The Houston Business Journal will reveal Voxofon's ranking and celebrate all the finalists during an event on Thursday, September 11th. Last year, the Houston Business Journal listed Voxofon as the sixth fastest growing technology company in the Houston area based on its 167 percent revenue growth from 2010 to 2012.
