Senior EMC2 Sales Exec Joins ElasticBox VP Team to Expand Into New Fortune 5000 Accounts Globally

ElasticBox expands its world-class sales team with the addition of industry vet Rick Gouveia to position company for next phase of growth, focused on delivering a new solution for application creation and management to companies everywhere

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Today, ElasticBox, the company that enables IT as a service along with real time collaboration on the delivery of applications, announces the hiring of Rick Gouveia as Vice President of North America Sales. Gouveia's extensive leadership in business technology sales fits ElasticBox's mission of enabling enterprises to deliver applications on any cloud efficiently and will position the company for the next phase of growth as it focuses on scaling its sales team.

Rick Gouveia joins the ElasticBox team from EMC2 where he was a top senior sales executive who helped drive 400 percent product growth in 2013. Before EMC2, Gouveia's innovative sales approach drove Data Domain's product growth from $16 million to $4 billion in sales over six years, leading to the company's acquisition by EMC2 in 2009. While at Dell, Gouveia was a senior enterprise executive who helped grow their Server and Storage business from $10 million to $4 billion in the U.S. by successfully transitioning accounts from physical machines to virtual servers.

His track record also includes senior sales and marketing positions at Cisco Systems and Silicon Graphics (sgi).

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Rick to our team," said Ravi Srivatsav, CEO of ElasticBox. "His broad experience with sales success in the enterprise market segment -- at both big companies and startups -- will be very valuable here, and we are thrilled to have him on board."

"What ElasticBox is bringing to enterprises now is as fundamentally revolutionary as the move from physical machines to virtual servers," said Gouveia. "ElasticBox unlocks new ways for businesses to drive their bottom line forward and I am thrilled to apply my decades of expertise in this space to bring greater efficiency to companies of all types."

Prior to Gouveia joining the ElasticBox team, the company also brought on board former Salesforce senior sales executive, Monish Sharma, as VP of Customer Success, and also recently announced a new round of funding of over nine million dollars in April.
