MacAulay-Brown, Inc. Strengthens Dayton Leadership Team


DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company delivering advanced engineering services and product solutions to Defense, Intelligence, Special Operations Forces, Homeland Security and Federal agencies, announced today that it has significantly strengthened its Dayton leadership team.

After 40 years of service to the Nation and to MacB, Dr. Phil Nielsen, Chief Scientist and Vice President of MacB's Science and Technology Operations, will move into a part-time role. He will continue his duties as Chief Scientist where he will focus on the development of next generation technologies and supporting MacB's Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) customers.

"While Phil is not leaving us, I would like to thank him for the leadership he provided to our Science and Technology Operations team," said Tim Lawrence, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MacB's Advanced Technology Group. "He was instrumental in the success and growth we have achieved over the past 17 years. Tom Singleton replaces Nielsen as Vice President of MacB's Science and Technology Operations. In his new role, Singleton will lead a team of engineers and scientists supporting various government customers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In addition, he will focus on expanding MacB's technology services and product solutions to the company's Defense and Intelligence customers throughout the country. Singleton previously served as Vice President of MacB's Systems Development Operations.

Cindy Martin has joined as Senior Director and will lead MacB's Systems Development Operations. She will be responsible for cultivating relationships and increasing new business opportunities in the Dayton-area. Martin is a PMI-certified Program Management Professional (PMP) with more than 20 years of experience supporting Air Force acquisition programs, including 13 years leading MS&A-based weapon system technology assessments for the AFRL Aerospace Systems Directorate (RQ), Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH) and the AFLCMC/XZS Simulation and Analysis Facility (SIMAF).

Nielsen, Singleton and Martin will report to Lawrence.

About Phil Nielsen

Dr. Nielsen has over 40 years of experience in research and development, operations research and leadership related to military weapon systems. Prior to joining MacB in 1992, he spent 26 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Colonel. While in the Air Force, Dr. Nielson worked on the service's most advanced weapons systems and performed basic and applied research in the areas of laser propagation and interaction with matter, particle beams, microwaves and other directed energy concepts. He received his Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

About Tom Singleton

Prior to joining MacB in 2005, Singleton was Executive Vice President and General Manager at UES, Inc. Responsible for the company's Beavercreek operations, he oversaw day-to-day operations and business development with a primary focus on the Air Force Research Laboratory. Singleton is a retired United States Air Force Colonel with more than 26 years of active duty service. In his last assignment with the Air Force, he served as the Deputy Director of Requirements for Air Combat Command where he was responsible for the life cycle management of major weapons systems and managed multi-billion dollar budgets and more than 250 professionals around the world. Singleton received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville.

About Cindy Martin 

For more than 25 years, Martin has supported major United States Air Force engineering initiatives. Before joining MacB, she was Principal Systems Engineer at LinQuest Corporation. At LinQuest, she successfully led several projects for the company's most strategic customers. Prior to joining LinQuest, Martin held senior level positions at General Dynamics. She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Factors Engineering from Wright State University (Suma Cum Laude) and Interior Design from Miami University.
