The announcement was made today during an event held at the Children's Museum in Wilmington, with members of the City Council, the Delaware Congressional delegation, and U.S. Senator Chris Coons in attendance. The Junior Engineers Program is part of the Delaware Children's Museum's overall mission to inspire children to explore, discover, and celebrate the power of their potential through interactive experiences in an environment that integrates and stimulates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

"InterDigital is committed to supporting the Delaware community as it aims to fuel technology innovation, and is excited to share the company's own knowledge and resources to further the community's mission," said William Merritt, CEO of InterDigital. "Growth in STEM jobs has been three times faster than in non-STEM jobs, and is a key component of economic strength for America and Delaware. With our support of the Delaware Children's Museum Junior Engineers Program, we are expressing our pride in the Delaware community's dedication to guiding and educating today's youth."

"Science, technology, engineering and math are essential to moving our country forward, and the gift from InterDigital to the Delaware Children's Museum will ensure that projects like the Junior Engineers Program will continue to inspire students and grow interest in those fields," said Senator Coons. "This gift means a great deal to the Delaware Children's Museum and to the children who play, explore, learn, and discover every day. Those students who learn by doing will become our next generation of engineers, research scientists and doctors."
