Þorsteinn graduated from University College London with an M.Sc. degree in Statistics in 2000, a C.S. degree in mechanical- and industrial engineering from the University of Iceland in 1996. In the period 1996-2001 he was in charge of avalanche hazard zoning at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, he was an IT consultant at Nýherji in 2001-2004. Þorsteinn developed real estate assessment methods, analysed and published real estate data at Registers Iceland in 2004-2012, he worked in risk management at Arion bank in 2012-2014 and currently he is an information security management expert at the Icelandic Data Protection Agency.
Change to the Board of Directors of the Icelandic Housing Financing Fund
The Minister of Social Affairs and Housing has appointed Þorsteinn Arnalds vice-chairman to the Board of Directors of the Housing Financing Fund, replacing Haukur F. Leósson.
