Time schedule update to Nordic and Baltic Equity Indexes Transition to Global Index Calculator – New date: December 8, 2014

  • December 8, 2014, is the new date from when NASDAQ OMX will calculate Nordic and Baltic equity indexes and related indexes via the NASDAQ OMX Global Index Calculator.

  • The new calculator will be represented as a new source in Genium Consolidated Feed (GCF). Index weights reports will move from File Delivery Service (FDS) to new premium FTP service; and will also continue to be available in Global Index Watch (GIW). Customers receiving index values from GCF will continue to receive the same data. Test data will be available from September, 2014.

Effective December 8, 2014, NASDAQ OMX® will start to calculate Nordic and Baltic equity indexes and other related indexes via its state-of-the-art Global Index Calculator powered by NASDAQ OMX INET® technology — the world's fastest trading system technology. The date has been changed from the previously announced date in November 10, 2014.

In Genium Consolidated Feed (GCF), the indexes will be connected to a new source that replaces the current ICS sources. ICS sources not affected by this migration project will continue to be available in GCF.

Consequently, reports for the affected indexes will no longer be available in File Delivery Service (FDS) as of December 8, 2014. Customers may access index weights reports today via the Global Index Watch web service and index FTP service.

The below migration schedule is subject to change and NASDAQ OMX will provide additional information throughout the transition process.

Why is NASDAQ OMX making these changes?

This change brings Nordic and Baltic indexes to the same state-of-the-art Global Index Calculator engine powered by NASDAQ OMX INET® technology.

If I receive index data from the Genium Consolidated Feed (GCF), what is changing?
Indexes in the current ICS source systems affected by this migration will be transitioned to Global Index Calculator in December, 2014. View the Frequently Asked Questions for additional GCF details.

Customers who receive index weights data from GCF will need to change their Source to Global Index Watch (GIW) or the new improved FTP service.

Customers who receive index values data from GCF will continue to receive the same data, but from the new Global Index Calculator (GIC) source.

If I receive index data from the File Delivery Service (FDS), what is changing?
When an index is transitioned to the Global Index Calculator its data will no longer be available via FDS.

NASADAQ OMX will offer index weights file distribution via two delivery platforms: Global index Watch (GIW) a web based platform, and via an enhanced premium FTP service with the ability to customize file formats upon request.

Global Index Watch already contains the index weights data and is available to clients now.

GIW supports historical index data in excess of 30 days while FDS only provides 30 days of historical data access. In addition, for the VINX indexes, clients will have access to data from January 2013 forward. Customers that currently have access to VINX data via FDS will automatically receive VINX data as a separate entitlement in GIW.
