Navigators Appoints SVP of Field Operations


NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Navigators Management Company, Inc. (NMC), the principal U.S. insurance underwriting agency subsidiary of  The Navigators Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NAVG) today announced that  James E. Hutchinson has joined NMC as Senior Vice President, Field Operations. Mr. Hutchinson, based in the Company's Manhattan office, will be responsible for NMC's distribution strategy, industry practices and leadership of the Northeast region, reporting to Vincent C. Tizzio, President & CEO of NMC, and LoriAnn V. Lowery-Biggers, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer of The Navigators Group, Inc.

Mr. Hutchinson most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Hub Northeast where he was responsible for placement and retention of commercial lines business. Previous to that role, he held various property & casualty underwriting and marketing positions with Hub/Walter Kaye and Hobbs Group, and also opened his own agency, Elwood-Boston Insurance Brokers.
