Keller Rohrback L.L.P. Announces Investigation Regarding Reported Data Breach at Home Depot

SEATTLE, Sept. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Attorney Advertising. Keller Rohrback L.L.P. is currently investigating the reported data breach at Home Depot (the "Company") that the Company allegedly failed to detect in late April or early May of this year. Reports state that the breach may have compromised data on more than 40 million payment cards and has resulted in over $50 million in losses. This breach is believed to be one of the largest data breaches to ever hit a retailer, possibly even bigger than the infamous Target data breach which affected more than 40 million consumers.

Home Depot acknowledged the possible data breach with a recent statement: "We're looking into some unusual activity that might indicate a possible payment data breach and we're working with our banking partners and law enforcement to investigate. We know that this news may be concerning and we apologize for the worry this can create. If we confirm a breach has occurred, we will make sure our customers are notified immediately."

Keller Rohrback recently filed a proposed class action complaint against Target Corporation for similar allegations. The Plaintiffs in the consolidated Target litigation allege that Target failed to secure and protect the personal information of Plaintiffs and other class members' credit and debit card accounts, and other personal information, which enabled hackers to gain access to records of tens of millions of Target's customers.

It has been reported that nearly all U.S. Home Depot locations were affected by this data breach. If you or someone you know has had their credit card data compromised or used fraudulently as a result of the Home Depot data breach, please contact attorneys Gretchen Cappio and Cari Laufenberg or paralegal Catlin Gibson at (800) 776-6044 or via email at consumer@kellerrohrback.com.
