About the Lawsuit

Altisource and certain of its executives are charged with issuing a series of materially false and misleading statements during the Class Period, violating federal securities laws.

On August 4, 2014, the New York's Department of Financial Services ("DFS") disclosed that it was investigating whether the Company entered into improper transactions with affiliated entities. According to the DFS, Altisource Portfolio Solutions S.A. entered into an arrangement with Ocwen Financial Corp., a financial services holding company of which Defendant William C. Erbey, who owns 27% of Altisource's outstanding shares, is Chairman of the Board, providing $65 million in questionable fees to Altisource, in a potential conflict of interest.

On this news, the price of Altisource's shares plummeted.
