Cramo acquires the equipment rental company BMS in South-Eastern Sweden

Cramo strengthens its position in South-Eastern Sweden by acquiring all the shares of BMS Uthyrning i Kalmar AB, with operations in Kalmar and Nybro. BMS is one of the larger equipment rental players in the region, with a strong position particularly in access equipment. The combination of BMS’s operations together with Cramo’s existing operations in the region will create a local market leading position.

BMS’s sales in 2013 were SEK 10.5 million and the number of employees was seven. The non-rental related parts of BMS will be divested before the acquisition. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

“The acquisition is a perfect match which goes hand in hand with our Best in Town strategy”, says Cramo’s Sweden’s District Manager Mr Jonas Ohlson, who will be operatively responsible for the integration of the two businesses. “Following the deal we will move Cramo’s local operation into the same facilities as BMS, thereby increasing our resources and possibilities to serve our customers, while at the same time reducing cost. The acquisition will also give us a strong foothold for further development at Nybro”.

The Managing Director and owner of BMS, Mr Per Eriksson, has agreed to stay in the company for a two-year period and to take an active part in the integration of the companies.

“This is an interesting possibility for me and BMS to help develop the company into an attractive and strong partner to all contractors and construction companies in the region”, says Mr Eriksson.

According to Mr Erik Bengtsson, Managing Director of Cramo Sweden, the main advantage of the acquisition is the possibility to increase Cramo’s service level to customers in the region.

“We know that Cramo has an attractive offering. But we also know that BMS has been strong in certain customer segments where we have been so far less successful. So this is a golden opportunity for both of us to learn from each other, which in turn is beneficial for our customers”.
