JSC “Rigas kugu buvetava” Takes Part in Maritime, Ship Building Exhibition in Germany

The joint stock company “Rigas kugu buvetava” (RKB) is taking part in one of the largest maritime and ship building exhibitions in the world from September 9-12 – SMM, which is being held in the German city of Hamburg.

RKB is informing visitors to the exhibition about its offer of ship repairs, transformation, lengthening or conversion of ships, as well as the building of new ships.  One of the main goals of taking part in the show is to negotiate further co-operation with existing clients, as well as to find new and promising clients.

RKB is being represented at the exhibition by its head of strategic management, Artjoms Zaharovs.  “Participating in the exhibition is essentially importance, because it allows us to start new partnership projects with ship owners,” he says.  “Our belief in this ability is based on the fact that the number of ships that RKB is repairing has increased this year, and this shows that we can handle very major projects in this regard.  RKB stand is also successful in terms of demonstrating our achievements and opportunities.”

During the exhibition, RKB is also presenting warships that it has built for Latvia’s Navy, thus hoping to facilitate orders for such ships from the military and defence institutions of various countries.

SMM is one of the largest maritime and ship building exhibitions in the world, and it is held once every two years in Hamburg.  It brings together shipyards and companies that manufacture equipment such as steerage systems, as well as heavy equipment such as cranes and loading and unloading equipment.  Companies present the latest trends, innovations and security systems.

As was reported in the past, RKB also took part in one of the world’s largest fishing and fishing ship exhibitions, “Nor-Fishing,” in Trondheim, Norway, from August 19-22.
