Independence Blue Cross names Kimberly Kockler vice president of government affairs


PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Independence Blue Cross (Independence) has hired Kimberly Kockler as vice president of government affairs. Kockler was previously the vice president of government affairs for Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

As vice president of government affairs, Kockler will represent Independence's position on legislative and government activities. She will support the company's efforts to enhance relationships with the community and external stakeholders in the rapidly changing health care industry. Kockler will report to Stephen P. Fera, senior vice president of public affairs.
 
Kockler brings 20 years of government affairs and health care experience to her role. In addition to serving as vice president of government affairs for Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, she was also the executive director of the Managed Care Association of Pennsylvania. Kockler earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Penn State University.
