SoldierSocks Forms Advisory Board to Help Service Members Take Their Next Steps Forward

STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SoldierSocks, a Connecticut-based organization whose mission is to help our service members take their next steps forward, from providing scholarships to helping paralyzed veterans walk again in Ekso Bionics™ (OTCQB:EKSO) robotic exoskeletons, announced today the formation of a Board of Advisors to provide counsel on ways to better serve and assist members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

The Advisory Board is comprised of Former United States Senator Joseph Lieberman, Philanthropist John Linnartz, Former CEO Linda McMahon, Colonel Bill Smullen (US Army - RET), Special Advisor to former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State General Colin Powell, and Retired Vice Admiral Bob Murrett.

"The sacrifices of the young men and women who have served our country so well must never be forgotten," said Senator Lieberman. "In fulfilling its mission to help service members take their next steps forward, SoldierSocks makes it clear in very concrete and meaningful ways that we haven't forgotten their sacrifices, nor have we forgotten our obligations to them. I'm pleased to join the SoldierSocks Advisory Board to support this mission and help expand its reach to all those veterans who need our support."

"It's great to be associated with SoldierSocks, which continues to evolve, and make a very real positive contribution to the lives of active duty and veteran service members," said Vice Admiral Murrett.

"We are excited to have such an extraordinary group of individuals join our Advisory Board," said SoldierSocks Co-Founder, Chris Meek. "Each member brings something different to the table, which will help SoldierSocks achieve our mission and further our success in assisting our nation's heroes."

About SoldierSocks

SoldierSocks was founded in 2009 to provide basic necessities such as baby wipes, socks and sunscreen to American soldiers fighting for our country in the trenches of Afghanistan and Iraq. As more of our soldiers return home to the U.S., SoldierSocks continues to assist our nation's heroes in re-acclimating to civilian life by offering scholarships for colleges and trade schools and offering paralyzed soldiers an opportunity to gain mobility outside of a wheelchair.
