LG CNS Leverages Entropic's System-on-a-Chip Technology for New Smart Linux IP Hybrid Set-Top Box Aimed at the India Market


AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Sept. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (IBC, Entropic Meeting Suite G106/G107; Hall 13) -- Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, today announced LG CNS, the leading IT services company in South Korea, has chosen Entropic's EN7190 high-definition (HD) IP set-top box (STB) system-on-a-chip (SoC) for LG CNS' new IP Hybrid STB, the LCP3x0, targeting the transition from standard definition (SD) to HD TV viewing in India.

The new LG CNS Smart Linux IP Hybrid STB ensures a simple-to-use, yet rich and intuitive user experience by offering a number of high-end features including quick access to programming, personal video recording and time-shifting, a nine-channel mosaic view of recommended viewing channels, integration of popular Web applications, and integrated search for easy program navigation, to name a few.
