Hill International to Manage Construction of Route 6 Highway in Kosovo

MARLTON, N.J. and PRISTINA, Kosovo, Sept. 15, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that it has received a contract from the Ministry of Infrastructure for the Republic of Kosovo to provide construction supervision and management services for the Pristina-Hani i Elezit Highway (Route 6). The five-and-a-half-year contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately €7.1 million ($9.2 million).

The 60-kilometer (37-mile) highway has strategic importance for the Kosovo economy, representing one of two important connections with trans-European corridors. The €600 million ($778 million) project will provide a direct connection between Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo, and Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, reducing travel time by more than half.

"The existing Route 6 between Pristina and Macedonia is a rural route with low capacity, few services and poor security conditions," said John A. Arnold, Senior Vice President and Managing Director (Europe) for Hill's Project Management Group.  "The new Route 6 will significantly improve travel conditions and positively impact the region's economy," added Arnold.

Hill International, with 4,400 professionals in 100 offices worldwide, provides program management, project management, construction management, construction claims and other consulting services primarily to the buildings, transportation, environmental, energy and industrial markets. Engineering News-Record magazine recently ranked Hill as the ninth largest construction management firm in the United States. For more information on Hill, please visit our website at www.hillintl.com.
