Hang w/ Launches In-App Messaging

Live Social Video Platform Introduces New Features to Optimize for iOS8 and Further Engage Users

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MEDL Mobile, Inc.(OTCBB:MEDL), a leading developer of mobile applications for the Apple iOS and Android platform and the developer of the patent-pending Hang w/ mobile live video broadcast technology, has announced the release of Hang w/ 3.2 - an updated and improved version optimized for iOS8 with a powerful new feature, User-to-User In-App Messaging.

The Hang w/ app connects people through live-streaming video and simultaneous chat, allowing anyone with an iPhone, iPad or Android device to broadcast live to dozens, thousands or potentially even millions of viewers around the globe.

The new messaging feature allows users to send an unlimited number of messages to each other for free without having to exit the app. This update follows the massive success of platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger - both of which show users' eagerness to find new ways to connect and communicate outside of traditional SMS - which often carries a per-message or monthly cost. WhatsApp was recently acquired by Facebook for $19 Billion.

"We realized that our users were looking for ways to connect with each other outside of the live broadcast," said Andrew Maltin, CEO. "They would regularly share their Instagram or Twitter names within the chat looking to continue the conversation once the broadcast was over. This new update will help our users communicate with each other privately, give them additional reasons to launch the app, and it will strengthen the interconnected network of users."

Also released in this version, the ability for users to delete their own archives.

"Privacy of information and security of content are of significant concern to many users today," added Maltin. "We want users to feel comfortable sharing experiences live - and that also means giving them the ability to delete that content after the fact if they so desire."

Also updated in the application is the ability for users to send emoji characters within the text during live broadcasts and now within their messages.

The Hang w/ platform is free for all users. It has attracted hundreds of actors, athletes, musicians and brands including 50 Cent, Ali Landry, Cheech and Chong, Claudia Jordan, Coco Crisp, Jake Ellenberger, Jamie Kennedy, Jared Leto, Josh Reddick, Julius Thomas, Kaskade, Larry the Cable Guy, Lucy Hale, Mike Metzger, Soulja Boy, Tony Orlando, Terrell Owens, Timbaland, UFC and Ultimate Poker.
