The First Tennessee Foundation is presenting $5,000 checks to the winners at events in First Tennessee Bank's major markets. The campaign generated enthusiasm and interest in local communities as many nonprofits encouraged supporters to vote. Among the winners were 84 nonprofits in West Tennessee, nine in Middle Tennessee, 49 in East Tennessee and four in the bank's Mid-Atlantic region (list of winners below).
"This campaign of 150 days symbolized our company's 150 years of giving back to our communities," said Bryan Jordan, First Horizon chairman and CEO. "We're excited that so many people participated and that the awards will enable the winners to continue doing good work in their communities."
The campaign began on March 25, the bank's anniversary. The $750,000 awarded during the 150 days comes in addition to the $5 million the First Tennessee Foundation traditionally grants each year to improve the communities where First Tennessee does business.
Eligible for votes were nonprofit organizations that received direct funding from the First Tennessee Foundation or a matching gift for an employee of First Tennessee Bank or FTN Financial since 2008. Visitors to www.150DaysOfGiving.com were able to vote for up to 10 nonprofit organizations a day from multiple electronic devices, and the votes were cumulative.
