Harsco's Patterson-Kelley Division Launches Innovative Touchscreen Boiler Control Platform

CAMP HILL, Pa., Sept. 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Diversified global industrial company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today the planned market introduction of its all-new NURO™ touchscreen control platform in the Patterson-Kelley boiler product line.

Developed exclusively by Harsco, the proprietary NURO™ is the latest in the Company's customer-focused Patterson-Kelley boiler product innovations, including the introduction last year of its energy-efficient SONIC™ stainless steel boiler and its space-friendly MACH N' ROLL™ domestic hot water heating system, one of the most compact units of its type in the commercial boiler marketplace.

The NURO™'s unique mini-computer design covers all aspects of a boiler's operations, providing facility managers with simple touchscreen controls for enhanced diagnostic efficiency, customizable adjustments and simple software upgrades via USB, all with the familiar interface of the latest smart phones. The NURO™ will be rolled out on the P-K SONIC™ boiler platforms in October. Integration of the controller onto other P-K boiler platforms will quickly follow.

"Our aggressive growth strategy in the Harsco Industrial business group is underpinned by dedicated research and development resources that will allow us to meet our customers' most challenging needs," said Industrial Group President Scott Gerson. "The NURO™ is another key milestone in our growth evolution and the direct result of our commitment to pacesetting engineering and continuous improvement."
