The MoneyGram Foundation's grant provided critical funding for Children of Vietnam's Kindergarten Program which is designed to provide a comfortable, secure and completely furnished building for young students. An average school will accommodate up to 45 children each year, typically between the ages of three to six years. Children of Vietnam has 15 years of experience building in Vietnam, constructing over 600 homes and 27 kindergartens, including three in the mountainous Tay Giang district. An event was held on September 23, 2014 to celebrate the opening of the new school.

"MoneyGram invests in the communities where our customers live and work by not only increasing access to our products and services, but also by improving the quality of education for children through our foundation," said Julia Taylor, president of the MoneyGram Foundation. "The MoneyGram Foundation's mission is to inspire minds and improve lives, and we are proud to work with Children of Vietnam to build a kindergarten that will do just that for hundreds of children for years to come."

MoneyGram previously sponsored scholarships for four students to attend secondary school in Vietnam through Children of Vietnam. Those students have recently graduated and will be meeting with MoneyGram representatives prior to the kindergarten opening.

The MoneyGram Foundation was established with the mission to help children around the world gain access to educational facilities and learning resources. The MoneyGram Foundation has impacted more than 60,000 children in 19 countries in just one year of operations. The grant to Children of Vietnam was awarded in 2014, along with five other grants to help inspire minds and improve lives.
